Aaron Cantu headed to El Paso?

Former Schurr High standout and current ELAC and 2011 Mountain Conference Offensive Player of the Year Aaron Cantu has been offered a scholarship from the University of Texas, El Paso.

When asked about the offer, Cantu said, ” I’m definitely excited. I am headed to El Paso this weekend for a visit and to meet the staff.”

Cantu, a two year starter at Schurr, threw for 2822 yards and 21 touchdowns in his senior season leading the Spartans to the second round of the playoffs where they fell to eventual Mid-Valley CIF champion Monrovia. Last year Cantu led ELAC to a record of 8-3, a confernce title and an American Division Championship Bowl victory. Cantu threw for nearly 2600 yards and 23 touchdowns with just five interceptions.
