  1. The Ganesha baseball team has outscored their last 12 opponents 204-5. 
  2. The Lakers beat the Golden State Warriors 122-101 Friday night to win the series in six games and advance to the Western Conference Finals to face the Denver Nuggets. The series starts Tuesday night in Denver. 
  3. The Boston Celtics beat the Philadelphia 76ers 112-88 Sunday to win the series in seven games and advance to the Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat.  
  4. The Phoenix Suns, who were eliminated by the Nuggets in six games, fired head coach Monty Williams Saturday night. Williams was the head coach of the Suns for four years and won an NBA Coach of the Year award.
  5. Chris Roberts, who was the UCLA basketball and football play-by play announcer for 23 years, passed away on Friday at the age of 74. 
  6. Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has been suspended from all team activities after a recent video surfaced showing him holding a gun. 
  7. In the North-South All-Star game Friday night at Walnut High School, Walnut’s Salvador Quintanilla and Elias Rojas won the offensive and defensive MVP awards for the South. 
  8. The Colony 7 on 7 passing tournament is scheduled for Saturday June 17. 
  9. Ganesha will face Brentwood on the road Tuesday in the CIF Division 7 Baseball Semi-Finals. 
  10. On this date in 1973 Nolan Ryan threw his first career no-hitter in the Angels 3-0 win over the Kansas City Royals.

    @Nope: Not to sure about that. If a team like Pioneer that is usually way down in sports like Ganesha gets D1 on line players they would go 10-0. 10-0 with the very weak schedule they play would not kick them that far up in their playoff division. Maybe up to D12. It would surely benefit the D1 players on the team with glaring spotlights, publicity and stats for the team. They have a great big stadium that could handle an all-star team. Would be nice to see that place with some fans. I like the on-line team idea.

    I hear a group of D1 football commits are taking on line couses at Pioneer and will play for the Titans this fall. D14 champions for sure.
