By Tim Peterson (Los Angeles) – USC Coach Clay Helton named Max Browne the starting quarterback Saturday afternoon. Browne, a redshirt junior, had the edge coming into training camp but he was pressed the least few weeks by redshirt freshman Sam Darnold.

Mooney Returns to Sidelines; Joins South El Monte Staff

By Tim Peterson (South El Monte) – Former San Marino/Temple City head coach Mike Mooney is back in coaching after a six year hiatus, as an assistant coach at South El Monte, Eagles head coach Frank Gallardo confirmed Thursday.

KISS Opens with a Bite, 64-39

By Tim Peterson (Anaheim) – The LA KISS outscored Jacksonville 31-6 in the second half and went on to beat the Sharks 64-39 Saturday night to kick off the 2016 Arena Football League season at Honda Center. 

Hawk Tackling Clinic April 2: Special Guest – Seattle Seahawks Assistant Coach Rocky Seto

Rocky Seto is an Arcadia High School alum (class of 1994) that went on to play for USC from 97-98 and then started coaching for USC in 1999. In 2003, he became a full time coach starting with safeties and then linebackers. From 2006‐2009, Seto coached the USC secondary and In 2009, he was promoted to USC Defensive Coordinator. In 2010, Seto joined the coaching  staff of the Seattle Seahawks. In 2015, he was promoted to Assistant Head Coach for Defense. 

Trojans Drive 55 in Opener

By Tim Peterson (Los Angeles) – Cody Kessler threw four touchdown passes and Tre Madden ran for 106 yards and a touchdown as USC cruised to a 55-6 rout of  Arkansas St. Saturday night to kick off the 2015 season before 79, 809 at the Coliseum.
