(Monrovia) – We know it’s probably old news. The word has been out around town for months that these three guys were signing. But it’s still exciting news that Brett Walsh (Northwestern), George Frazier (Colorado) and Mason Bryant (Penn) all signed letters to play college football Wednesday at Monrovia. Plus we think the pic is cool!

Thompson Takes the Reins at San Gabriel

(San Gabriel) – San Gabriel named J.D. Thompson as its new head coach on Friday. Thompson was the offensive coordinator at Woodrow Wilson (Long Beach) last season and also spent several years at Corona Centennial previously.

TC, Lee and the Three Bury Spartans

(Temple City) – Goren Lee hit seven threes and led all scorers with 27 points to lead Temple City to a 73-47 rout of La Canada Friday night. The Rams improved to 8-0 in the Rio Hondo League with the win and with just two games remaining, clinched a share of the league title.

(La Mirada) – Florida is the latest Division 1 school to offer La Mirada TE/LB Tyler Luatua Matadore Coach Mike Moschetti confirmed Monday. Luatua has received close to 20 offers so far and still has a year to go.

I found myself rooting for the Boston Celtics Sunday. It felt kind of strange but I believe I’ve hit LeBron overload. He got his championship last year and now everybody proclaims him to be the best basketball player on the planet…ever.

Schurr lost DC Geoff Ackerman to Bell Gardens but the off season is going along well for the Spartans and second year Coach Marco Ramirez. They’re in the weight room and looking forward to next year.
