By Tim Peterson There is still one high school head coaching job open locally. San Gabriel has yet to find a replacement for Joe Ledesma. There have been plenty of names thrown around but nobody has landed as of yet.
I found myself rooting for the Boston Celtics Sunday. It felt kind of strange but I believe I’ve hit LeBron overload. He got his championship last year and now everybody proclaims him to be the best basketball player on the planet…ever.
So for six months the NBA news revolves around Dwight Howard and it turns out he’s not going anywhere. Yes he’s arguably the best center in the league but he’s also the most indecisive. The latest news on Howard has him opening his own waffle house when he retires.

There is good basketball in the San Gabriel Valley. Sometimes you just have to look. I saw a good one Friday night at St. Francis High School. Covina, who finished in a three way tie for first in the Valle Vista went into Golden Knights territory and beat them on their own turf.

Contrary to popular opinion I don’t have a problem with the Lakers hiring Mike Brown. Listening to the reaction this week after the Lakers announced that Brown would be the new coach; you would have thought they hired Bobby Brown.
By George Hernandez -Saturday night “WEC 47: Bowles vs. Cruz” was a great night for the bantamweights. Brain Bowles put his title on the line against Dominick Cruz. Cruz put the pressure on Bowles landing hard shots while Bowles landed his own shots and broke his hand.
