Richardson Out at Pomona

By Tim Peterson

(Pomona) – Keith Richardson, who took over as the Pomona head coach during the 2014 season when the Red Devils won the CIF title, was fired this week sources confirmed.

Richardson replaced Aaron Jamieson who was let go before the playoffs started in 2014, and led Pomona to the Mid Valley Division Championship where the Red Devils beat Paraclete 37-29.

Richardson had an overall record of 20-15 and 2-3 in the post season from 2015 to ’17. Pomona advanced to the semi finals in 2105 before losing to Sierra Canyon 65-26.

This past season the Red Devils went 6-5 and won the Miramonte League crown but lost in the first round of the Division 7 playoffs to Don Lugo 26-0.

Pomona will begin the search for a replacement immediately.

    @Bassett Fan,
    You know and I know where that money goes. They collect all cash from the vendors and hand it over to the most corrupt district in the valley. I here the swap meet makes closet to a million dollar annually. The last 4 superintendents have been fired for a reason, its like being president of Columbia when the drug trade was at its highest, so much money for people to line their pockets and none of it gets to the high school.

    Plenty more to this story. Cover ups by school administrations are pandemic. Public should demand full disclosure on coach firings. Last season there were way to many shenanigans that the tax payers were not let in on as to firings and resignings of coaches. These firings need to be explained by the administrators that work for the parents and local tax payers. They are not private companies.

    Miramonte league in all sports how can u build programs when they don’t support there athletic programs. Bassett not a big time school but in 2016 football, basketball, and baseball all make CIF. All three coaches in those sports not around now. Bassett no head coach in baseball fo this season so far. Edgewood looking for baseball coach. You would think with Bassett Foundation running a big swap meet on weekends they have money to give to athletics. Miramonte league not a strong league but it was always good in 2015 and 2016 seeing all those Bassett boys make 1st team All League in those three sports and even having a Player of the Year in baseball in 2016. Good coaches make great athletes and Bassett administration doesn’t know how to open there eyes and provide for there programs.

    If that’s the case the whole league administrators are toxic. The worse league in the valley from academic to athletic.

    The administration there is toxic. Have heard from previous coaches from there that admin lives to throw their coaches under the nearest buses.
    They demand the stars and moon but give back zero support.

    Why did they fire the Pomona coach? I know that Pomona unified is not the most well run district.
