Bro you’re always wrong when it comes to La Serna. Sorry no one, of any talent anyway, wants to go to El Rancho. Kids want to win, not a blue turf field.

You’re definitely into QAnon. You think CIF, WUHSD and Biden are all in on giving LS wins and championships. Delusional at its finest lol.

Come by La Serna in May so we can show you our rings homie. We’ll have a 7xl shirt ready for you too 😉

Jealousy and envy has entered the chat room. SMH. All this whining because you didn’t get attention growing up. Sorry man you have to build a bridge and get over it. Congratulations and what a year for the Lancers. They proved they are the best Division 4 team. All those other years getting screwed over and now the best for 2023. Good luck next year I see a brighter future ahead.

Looks like the Corona Del Mar team is the highest rated team that any area school has beat to win a CIF title (other than La Habra beating San Clemente back in 2015 or so) maybe in the entire Cal Preps rating era.

What a huge win for La Serna against a great team. Thanks to the Cheap Chump guy for not having a clue, an unwillingly shining a spotlight on LS winning one of the most legit CIF titles any area team has won since 2000.

The moniker “Character, Courage, Commitment” could not be further from the truth. That staff is given far too much credit when they have an all star team composed of all the best players in Whittier, hand picked players from La Habra, La Mirada, brea, Norwalk, Santa Fe springs, pico Rivera, hacienda heights, La puente, this year they are even housing a player from the Inland empire whose parents currently live in hawaii, they allowed a player to transfer in and take the starting qb spot in week 6. Where is the character courage and commitment in that? What you really have is an arrogant group who is willing to step on their own kids for the sake of winning.

Too bad this blog has been hijacked by two sad sacks living in a fantasy world of their own making. Notice the teams that have class are quiet. RHP, WC, BG,Warren etc. All those teams do not feel the need to hype their teams on here. They know who they are already. Congrats boys and enjoy.

What an ELITE HS FB Matchup Friday Night For a CIF-SSTitle.

    1 Orange County team vs
    1 LA County team.
2 teams that since 2010, have made it to at least the Playoff Semifinals in 9 of the last 13 seasons, so a combined 18 Final Fours over the last 13 years.

2 teams that combined will be playing in their 13th CIF-SS Championship game in the last 13 years. 7 for the OC team & 6 for the LA County team. With a 6th title win already guaranteed for 1 of the 2.

And they will be playing in the legendary
LA Co Coliseum Sandy T.Memorial Stadium
@ the CALi will be rockin #@theKingdom.

Oh & besides this Heavyweight Title Fight between LA SERNA & CORONA DEL MAR,
I think mater dei and bosco might also be playing Friday night at some point so that might be an Ok back up plan.

Like a lot of readers, I am not a fan of what La Serna represents, and therefore cannot muster any enthusiasm for their title game. Gathering top talent from several cities in a wide attendance zone and saying it reflects the greatness of one school–or one group of coaches–is ridiculous, and an embarrassment for its non-delusional fans.

Another instance of this garbage is in the division one game, featuring two all- star squads made up of top jocks from even wider zones of residence. That’s why nobody can even pretend that Mater Dei vs. St John Bosco involves the kids from Santa Ana and Bellflower. Nope, these are strictly make-believe high school teams that have entirely ruined the concept of local competition.

I can feel far more allegiance to Bell Gardens or West Covina this Friday, because I know these guys represent the city where their schools are located. I have no reason to feel anything about what the artificial teams are up to, because from my standpoint, they are an insult to what high school sports are supposed to be.

Im putting my prayers on CDM… Im not even going to lie.

I do not want to hear nor argue with these LS parents about how they were gifted a CiF title ….

That’s because LaSerna has been winning big in every round CalPreps counts playoff games double , Those other teams have losses which then bring their rating down x2
Most teams in finals now have ratings better than most of the Division above them . I do not agree with this method of assigning double weight to playoff games under the current format system .
I could go on about the mathematics of this issue , but mostly want to explain LaSerna high rating . La Serna got a beneficial arbitrary seeding and have jumped on the opportunity. They aren’t the only team.

Tim has listed 8 title matchups. If we exclude the La Serna-CDM game, the average difference between the power ratings of each team is 3.45. The La Serna game stands out like a sore thumb at 9.8. Talking about other divisions and other matchups won’t change the problem with this one.

    @ThankUCheapDeadBeatDad

So you are saying according to Cal Preps, Corona Del Mar has a rating of 40.8

That’s a better rating currently than all 12 of the following D3 teams.
    SO Notre Dame
    Roosevelt
    Tustin
    Citrus Valley
    Cajon
    Etiwanda
    Beaumont
    Oxnard Pacifica
    St Francis
    Leuzinger
    Inglewood
    Millikan

And it’s within in 1 pt of 3 more D3 teams; Oak Hills, Villa Park, & Tesoro.

Thanks for proving my point, the D4 Championship game feels a lot more like
a D3 title game & your post proves it.

    Wow, thanks.
Knowing that Corona Del Mar is that highly ranked, means if La Serna is fortunate enough to win the title against such a strong CDM team, it would be an amazing Championship! Good luck to both teams.

To you guys it’s a cheap championship! And that’s your opinion! But to these KIDS it’s what’s they’ve worked hard for since they first started playing this sport. So let’s not take that away from them! Good luck to everyone playing in a championship game this weekend!

No matter how La Serna fans try to spin this, the Calpreps numbers are: CDM 40.8, La Serna 50.6. That’s a whopping 10 point advantage. How would a team that’s rated ZERO do against a team that’s rated 10? There’s your answer, and that’s why a La Serna title this year has no merit.

You are providing some solid entertainment from your side of the couldn’t even make the Double Digit Playoffs Mountain.

Can’t think of anything funnier than a guy whose team is in Div. 15, trying to say a team that regularly competes in the D3/D4 playoffs, was gifted an easy road to the title.

Lol, you need to take your comedy act on tour so that we can laugh with you, not just at you.

Somebody was saying that La Serna was given a title by being in D4.

Hardly, Corona Del Mar has won titles in D2, & D3, just knocked off the defending 3A Champs Yorba Linda, & played D1 San Clemente tough earlier this year. This game feels more like a D3 Final then D4.

La Serna will definitely have to play well to win the title, and if they do, they will have certainly earned it vs a very good CDR program.
