LS is obviously gonna take a big step back after winning the State title. Their freshmen team barely went undefeated last year, only 10-0 & the district hates LS, always trying to hold them back & help the other schools.

Time is right for new Whittier coach to swoop on in & take over the DRL.

Maybe Whittier District, favoring La Serna as they do, is waiting to see what the rumor of Cineceros’ move to Whittier might do to drain talent from the hill. If a sizeable portion of kids decide to join Jesse, the hire may be nixed. That’s the nasty way this odious district operates.

But why wasn’t it on agenda if the choice was made ? Was it politicking? Word was out on choice weeks before board meeting …., what now , wait another three weeks ??

The only entity that can make the Del Rio League football and all sports in general for that matter a level playing field is the WUSD board. But the board is like a gerrymandering board of the deep South designed to keep the field tilted in the favor of La Serna. Even if Ciniseros is approved he too will be a coach at the mercy of La Serna football. A D2 program in a D13 league.

    Pissed Whittier Dad,
Cal High hired a coach that coached at La Serna, won a CIF championship their in 2013. I don’t think they hired a “filler”.

La Serna and BP winners… laughing! Losers Whittier and SV students.

Board members must be from La Serna. now you know why some programs suck. Its obvious that “State coach” wants out of Sierra Vista and SV dont know how to keep him but he has done nothing really at Sierra Vista. What makes him think that the sauce is more spicy at Whittier high. Both programs will end 2-8 with or without CIF and the chicken wings.

Everyone of La Serna’s returning starters can transfer out and they would still steamroll the Del Rio. Truth is truth.

They are not waiting for Board Approval, the Board met last week and this was not on the agenda. All Board Minutes and Agendas are public knowledge.

Completely disgusted they have a State championship coach that has applied for the head coaching Position at Whittier high …seems to me that Whittier high and Cal are completely satisfied being feeder program for La Serna tired of them hiring coaches at Cal and Whittier only to fill a position ….. are they just trying to keep La Serna the winning Program at the district what the HELL is going on What are the demo of the Whittier school district ? Just keep feeding the school on the hill ……
    Completely disgusted !!

There must have been a snag at board meeting. This type of stuff is typically confidential , so no public statement /notice . Everyone thought Jesse had it lined up , but if that were case it would have been announced by now .

The district policies regarding board meetings , approval and communication to candidates and public are confusing often unfortunate . Schools do as they will, not always as they say ! I have empathy for any and all caught up in this type of situation.

Whittier still hasn’t hired anyone. Wow what is going on over there. I’m sure they have had the interviews by know. Majority of the local HS are already starting their winter workouts to get ready for spring. If they are gonna hire Cineceros just do it already. The program is falling behind more and more with each passing day.
From T. Peterson: They did make a hire. They’re just waiting for board approval. It always takes time for everything to be cleared. You know how that goes.

    @ Old Whitmont,

Oh man, that’s a bad look for all parties involved. If I’m Sierra Vista, I’m asking him to either poop or get off the pot. Can’t allow him to hold that program hostage either.

What is going on at Whittier? I am completely disgusted with my alma mater, it is if they don’t care about their football program. They have not named a head coach in close to two months, they have had Jesse Cineceros dangling in front of them for a while now. I feel sorry for the student athletes at Whittier who do not have a football coach and I feel sorry for the student athletes at Sierra Vista for when the ball rolls and they lose their coach in March or even April.
