Leonard Takes the Reins at Warren…For Now

By Tim Peterson

(Downey)- Adam Leonard who was the defensive coordinator at Warren in 2021 and ’22 has been named the Interim head football coach at Warren sources confirmed Wednesday.

Leonard was promoted to a dean position at Warren this school year and couldn’t coach. His status will be evaluated again at the end of the season.

Leonard takes over for Kevin Pearson who stepped down last week.

The Bears went 11-3 overall last year and won the Gateway League with a record of 5-0. Warren lost in the CIF Division 3 Championship game to St. Bonaventure 24-21.

I would have thought that Felipe Aguilar would have been interim. He’s been at Warren for quite a while and even has HC experience.

Seems like Warren wants to go big name hunting next year as Adam is a dean now which is a full time job in it self that will be hard to balance with being the full time baseball, coach

Seems like Warren wants to go big name hunting with the football job or hope that Kevin comes back after a year off. Best move was to name a interim coach
