Jeff Cole Takes Over at Marshall

By Tim Peterson (Pasadena) – Jeff Cole was named the new head coach at Marshall earlier this month sources confirmed Wednesday.

The Peterson Principle: 4/12/2017

By Tim Peterson It doesn’t matter if Joshua Knight accepted the position or not (I don’t think he did), but what does matter is that El Monte still doesn’t have a football coach.

The Peterson Principle: 4/2/2017

By Tim Peterson It’s not unprecedented. Temple City hired a head coach in May one year. There have been other hires as late as June. But with the football season a year round thing now if you don’t have a head coach in place by April 1, you may already be a step behind.

By Tim Peterson You know you’re getting old when high school football players that you covered are now taking head coaching jobs.

Quarterbacks of the MVL

These Mission Valley League quarterbacks aren’t in any ranking order or listed by ability or talent. It is an interesting group however. Some are returning and some aren’t. Some have received a lot of ink already this summer while others haven’t caused a blip. Here we go:

Arellanes and Lott…Back in the Day

Marshall HC Jim Arellanes with former USC/49er star Ronnie Lott in 1999. Did you know Arellanes once quarterbacked the Rhein Fire?

SGV Shootout Fires up Saturday July 12

(El Monte) -The Annual SGV Shootout is set for this Saturday at Arroyo. It could be turn out to be the most competitive ever.

The TEN: 5/28/2014

(“The TEN” is not a top ten but ten items worth being included in the TEN)

The Peterson Principle: 5/26/14

Jorge Reyna is still at Pasadena and will be the quarterback for the Bulldogs in the fall. He didn’t play in the throw with Marshall on Saturday fueling speculation that the Downey transfer had transferred again.

The Peterson Principle 4/22/13

I’m not sure why there is such an uproar about Marshall coming to the Mission Valley League. If I’m a card carrying member of the MVL I’m thrilled about the new entry.
