Vikings Chew up Yardage, Hoover

(Glendale) – Ignacio Castanada and Jose “Nacho” Zamora combined for 322 yards rushing and four touchdowns to lead Mt. View to a 34-21 win over Hoover Thursday night at Glendale High.

Maranatha High School is a perfect setting for a football game. There’s new field turf, and the stands are filled with rabid Minutemen fans. The visitors’ side isn’t bad either but its just not as roomy as it is for the home team.

So much for any running the table talk – M-Town goes down! Covina wins big to move to the top while Arroyo survives. How about those Minutemen? The Saints have been angry since losing the Smudgepot in Zero Week. The Moors continue to impress. San Marino has shut out two consecutive opponents.                   

Minutemen are Offensive, 47-28

(Pasadena) – All of Maranatha’s weapons were on display in a 47-28 win over Azusa Friday night on its home field. The Minutemen accumulated over 500 total yards on offense including 371 yards passing and five touchdowns from Andrew Elffers.

Panthers Flagged for a Loss

(Rosemead) – Rosemead was unable to overcome a barrage of penalties, a 90 yard kick off return, four turnovers, and two missed extra points in a 20-19 loss to Rowland Thursday night on its home field.

No changes in the top four as they all came away with victories. San Dimas took out its frustrations on Azusa while Alhambra is making people take notice. Is La Puente the best team in the Montview? Teams to watch: Pomona, Montebello, San Marino.

Rivera Re-Writes Record Book in Knights Win

(El Monte)- Arroyo quarterback Steven Rivera set three school records in the Knights convincing 48-21 victory over the Temple City Rams in “The Mid Valley Classic” on Friday night at B.L. Bergstrom Stadium.
