Five Fire Away at Arroyo

(El Monte) – Five teams gathered late Thursday afternoon at Arroyo to fire the ball around. Azusa, Gladstone, Schurr and Northview all joined the the host Knights to get in some June work.

(Citrus College) – Desmond Reed sat out the first quarter due to a missed practice. But once he entered the game he didn’t miss anything as he scored four touchdowns to lead Azusa to a 45-10 rout of previously unbeaten Duarte Thursday night in Montview League play.

Minutemen are Offensive, 47-28

(Pasadena) – All of Maranatha’s weapons were on display in a 47-28 win over Azusa Friday night on its home field. The Minutemen accumulated over 500 total yards on offense including 371 yards passing and five touchdowns from Andrew Elffers.

Payton Key in Win for Saints

(Azusa) – San Dimas’s super sophomore Jake Payton ended the first half with a scintillating 66-yard run for touchdown, than began the second half with a 86-yard kickoff return to help lead the Saints to a 41-16 non-league victory over Azusa.

The Peterson Principle 8/22/11

Less than two weeks and counting…this Friday night there will be numerous scrimmages through out the area and then the following Thursday (September 1), the high school football season kicks off.

The opening kick off for high school football is still a couple of weeks away. All the passing circuits are completed and fall camp is underway. Most teams will be throwing on the helmet and pads soon as they begin the stretch run to zero week.

It’s late July so yes, there will be changes, yes I probably left out some deserving school out and no it’s not etched in stone. Diamond Bombs Its Way to SGV Shootout Title

Brahmas Bombardier Henry Omana was on target Saturday at Arroyo (El Monte) – Diamond Bar knocked off Azusa to win the SGV Shootout at Arroyo on Saturday. The Brahmas, led by quarterback Henry Omana, beat San Dimas in the quarter finals and then took care of Monrovia in the semis before dispatching of Azusa.
