(Hacienda Heights) – Former Los Altos head coach Dale Ziola has joined forces with new Diamond Bar HC Kevin Argumosa as an assistant on the Brahmas staff.
Argumosa served as Ziola’s DC last year at Los Altos and was named head coach at Diamond Bar last week.
“If your brother got a job somewhere and asked you to help, and you had the ability to help, would you?” Ziola said when I asked if he had joined Argumosa at Diamond Bar.
Ziola, who led the Conquerors to two CIF Championship game appearances in six years, will coach the offensive line at Diamond Bar.
“I get to coach football and still be home for dinner. And I’m at kid’s practice right now after being at Diamond Bar this afternoon…never happened when I was the boss,” Ziola added.
@? Aka Marcel Perez
Bottom line is with all your recruiting and broken promises you’ve become Cathedral East. And like Cathedral you have nothing to show for it. And after this class leaves mainly Comstock it’s back to the cellar you go. Enjoy it while it lasts Marcel it’s just about over.
@Anonomous: Fat insults? That’s what you got. Perez has owned Holman and your Aints his first two seasons and it will be 3 after this season probably knocking Holman down to D12. I’m not Perez but everyone knows Holman loves to post about people he dislikes on this board. So you best sharpen up your takes. Onion rings! Ouch.
? Is Marcel Perez from Northview continuing his verbal barrage against San Dimas. He’s still mad SD has rings and and the only rings he has are deep fried breaded onion rings from His favorite fast food joint. BOOM!
Idiotic that you want me to identify myself when you post as “Anonomous”. Think McFly! Every HC around knows Holman is nothing but a administration yes man and has no idea on how to call a game. He gets the best talent around and wastes it copying Zernikows blueprints. Watch what happens this year now that Z’s boys have graduated.
What happened to coach Twist at Arroyo?
According to aram over at the tribune Ziola is the oc
@?, you are a moron. Either you’re just trolling or your lack intellect is disturbing. He’s done a great job in my opinion. Name where you coach or who you are if your gonna run your mouth.
Top Oline Coaches:
Mike Mooney at South El Monte took a 3-7 team prior to his arrival, and launched them to 11-2 and a semi finals run. In the process producing a 2800 yard running back. Hands down one of the best in the area.
Chuck Leonardis at Arroyo has brought a toughness to a usually finesse offense for the Knights. Arroyo is a playoffs stalwart but had the reputation early exits. Enter Coach L, and arguably his Oline had the biggest part of the the CIF championship. With a sophomore QB, young receivers and a small running back. The Oline plowed through defenders all the way to the championship.
As many know I reported 6 weeks ago that Los Altos was in a melt down regarding the hiring of a new coach. The truth is despite a lot of applications from current HC’s to highly experienced men from all over the sector Los Altos got the guy they wanted. A coach with a tamed ego, willing to walk on and not be a part of the faculty. a coach extremely grateful to the administrators for the job and most importantly one guy they can control. Hires like this have been done before like Hiatt at El Rancho being the most notable. He broke the program in a year. Time will tell on this experiment.
@? you must be new to this blog or to High School football….because the whole theme is “the value of assistant coaches” Coach Z did a great job … but Holman was his playcaller and OL coach for those rings!!! And a 18-7-1 record for the past two years is pretty dang good!!
@SGgreen and NWO not that no one cares, but just don’t think the right people care. NWO is always on here hounding MVS staff about what is happening at SG like they should know. Turn your attention to the admin there and go ask them, not on here!! Or go ask your precious Oliva who you long for so much. Help find solutions not excuses!!!
Holman still feeding off the table that Zernikow set. He has done nothing to put his own stamp on Saint football. San Dimas football is three yards and a cloud of dust, boring. Holman maybe 4th best coach in Valle Vista IMO.
Since this post brought up oline coaches who are some of the local best line coaches in the sgv?
Heard Santa Ana coach has an offer in the table
Yeah what is happening with all those schools man keep us updated I know they are small but we care about them just as much as when they were winning RSMD,SG.. and others
I get the gut feeling that Ziola and Moschetti were both ran out of town due to massive ego problems. Please stop with the spend more time with the family stuff. The wives and kids love it that coach is gone all the time.
@NWO
The answer is NO!
Does anybody out there care about SG, RSMD, Wilson? Speak up.
@TP: Uh you sure about OLC and not O Coordinator? DB making it sound like the LA staff coming over. Can anyone fill the backstory of what went wrong with Ziola and his brothers at LA?
Makes no sense that the football coach has to be board approved
Are both coaches Argumosa and ZIola becoming on-campus teachers or Ziola remains a teacher at Los Altos or what?
cool
Heard the El Monte principal offered him the position… strong area ties
Heard Ben Macias, long time area assitant coach and former DC, was going to be the HC at El Monte…
According to the link provided on this name, Jeff Cole Marshall assistant is the new head coach at Marshall Fundamental and South Pasadena, assistant Jeff Chi is their new head coach (Link below):

@lions roar, good luck with that. 🙄
I hear Amilcar Archilla former El Monte standout is the guy at EM
San Gabriel, Wilson HH
From T. Peterson: Also El Monte, Marshall and Rosemead. Although Rosemead has their coach – just waiting for board approval in early May.
Can you give us a rundown on which schools still don’t have a HC?
Gotta give him respect for his good coaching
Strange indeed.
I do recall the article stating that Mr Ziola wanted to come back as a position coach if possible. Y not when ur friend gets the HC job. Good luck coach. Argumosa good luck!
I guess he don’t have any brothers at LA. OC takes as much time as HC if you do it right. Then the drive from one school to another every day. Something strange at LA.
From T. Peterson: He’s coaching the O-Line. He’s not the OC.
Interesting that he didn’t join as oc
