The Peterson Principle 8/6/12

Tim Peterson and some wierd looking hippie dude like the Dodgers
I didn’t know picking La Mirada as the number one team in the Southeast Division would create such a stir. Aren’t we still in August? Isn’t Zero Week still three weeks away? I mean it’s not like we tabbed Lynwood.
Apparently the crime that we committed [...]

How much stock should be put in passing leagues? Diamond Bar HC Ryan Maine (above) has to wonder. Last year the Brahmas won the SGV Shootut but missed the playoffs
Surprise, Surprise! Monrovia won the Arroyo Lineman Competition Saturday – as if they didn’t have enough everywhere else.
Santa Fe and Claremont also held their passing tournaments [...]

The TEN: 7/12/2012

1. The Brooklyn Nets end trade talks with Orlando for Dwight Howard and re-sign center Brook Lopez to a four-year $60 million deal.

The Peterson Principle 7/9/12

Blake Heyworth, (right), Mason Bryant (center) and so many other weapons for Monrovia
So West Covina wins the SGV Shootout? What? Last year the Bulldogs were knocked out early and that figured. With guys like Chris Solomon, Jimmy Frazier and Aaron Salgado all Head Coach Mike Maggiore was going to do was pound the ball and [...]

West Covina’s Antonio “Noodles” Hull
The Bulldogs used both Antonio “Noodles” Hull and [...]

SGV Shootout Set for Saturday

Arroyo HC Jim Singiser
They’ve been throwing every day at Arroyo since April anyway haven’t they? Ok well not everyday but it sure seems that way. This Saturday July 7, the Knights will host the monster of all passing leagues as they host the SGV Shootout where 24 area teams will converge at Arroyo High to [...]

The Peterson Principle 8/22/11

Shawn Kennedy is back at QB for San Dimas
Less than two weeks and counting…this Friday night there will be numerous scrimmages through out the area and then the following Thursday (September 1), the high school football season kicks off.
The Smudgepot pitting San Dimas and Bonita will highlight the Thursday games. This year the game [...]

The Peterson Principle 7/12/11

For Diamond Bar HC Ryan Maine the SGV Shootout was anything but meaningless
After nine hours in the baking sun, watching hundreds of passes, countless touchdowns, dozens of routes, close to 100 coaches (counting assistants), and 24 teams compete at the Arroyo SGV Shootout on Saturday you have to take a step back and think what [...]

Fanview Lite: July 7, 2011

The WC's Troy Webb and Justin Meaders pause while doing a "Bulldog Workout"
Good Afternoon!
I always considered the late Armen Gilliam a bit of an NBA bust…When you go second overall there is a certain expectation…but at UNLV, he was the inside guy (The Hammer) Tarkanian needed to get to the Final Four…Great player for the [...]
