El Rancho vs. Bell Gardens: “Black and Blue” Game

Come out and support the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and watch a competitive football game between El Rancho and Bell Gardens High Schools. Donations will be collected for the SOWF at the game. Entry is free with a Military ID

Special Operations Warrior Foundation pledges to ensure full college funding to every surviving child of a special operator who loses their life in the line of duty.

It proactively reaches out to every eligible family. They do not need to apply for help.

Additionally, SOWF realizes that one of the most difficult challenges that special operations families may face is the immediate financial burden when their loved ones are hospitalized with severe combat wounds or injuries. We fulfill this need by immediately providing a check to the service member (or his/her designated recipient) so the family and loved ones can be at their bedside.

I thought this was BG’s year?? Beltran and Co. can’t even compete with the Ranch. Should’ve taken the ER job!

ER Officials: Please publish how much was donated to the cause after the game even if it was only 5 bucks. That way all will know this is not a Trump like charity but a honest effort to help out needy kids.

We will see if Bell Gardens is the real deal after this game. The Ranch always seems to get up for this game. Brings back the ole days.

“[Why] did we not see any year-end military recruit dinners and veteran-themed football games PRIOR TO the video going viral?

This begs the question: Why do we need to?

Give me a freakin break, he was fired and now has nothing to do with the school anymore, is this ER trying to clean up that whole anti military perception? Yes it is, but what would you prefer for ER to just forget the whole thing and do none of this.

The entire El Rancho administration and school board have been busy painting themselves as pro-military and anti-racist ever since the Salcido video was uploaded. This begs the question: why did we not see any year-end military recruit dinners and veteran-themed football games PRIOR TO the video going viral? The answer is that everyone knew what Gregory was all about and they let it go, either because they were somewhat sympathetic to his views, or else feared what he might do from his position as a city councilman. Unlike commenter ‘Football Dude’, I do not feel sorry for the school; they are the ones who hired and coddled Salcido for so many years. My sympathy goes to the STUDENTS, who, until the video went viral, had no voice.

After what El Rancho had to go thru because of that idiot teacher that has since been fired it is refreshing to see this black and blue game championing a great cause. Kudos to both schools for supporting this.
