We’ve started with the Top 25 football teams in the Mid-Valley Division, but it is up to you where you want them to go from here. Leave us a comment, send us a tweet, message us on FB, vote in the poll, or drop us a line through email. The more we learn about your team, the more they move up. To keep a sense of balance, because it is largely unscientific, we have weighted the teams.
This will run for the next five working days. Then we will launch a Northwest Division Poll.
1.) Monrovia (25): “Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends…We’re so glad you could attend…Come inside, come inside!”
2.) Sierra Canyon (24): “This is the next Oaks Christian.”— Olympic League HC.
3.) Paraclete (23): “Like whirlwinds sweeping through the southland, an invader comes from the desert, from a land of terror.”— Isaiah 21:1
4.) San Dimas (22): Jake Payton already a star, becomes the star everyone knows about in 2012.
5.) San Gabriel (21): If Big Joe Mayorga has a big year, so do the Mats.
6.) El Monte (20): “Something’s telling me our time is now…its just a whisper but I know it somehow…we got to listen…got to do it now…”
7.) Arroyo (19): We’ve never heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon, and we haven’t seen the Knights without a front line quarterback in over a decade.
8.) Bell Gardens (18): It should be a “Garden Party” in the Almont this fall…
9.) South Pasadena (17): Winning record in 2012 finally means a playoff birth.
10.) Alhambra (16): Quinones, Broadus, it might be coming together for Kanach.
11.) Northview (15): Any team with Javon Taylor is okay in our book.
12.) Rosemead (14): Three quarterbacks, three distinct personalities, but only one can be the man.
13.) San Marino (13): Titans plan on putting the Ryan Wood to opponents this year.
14.) Schurr (12): Southpaw Sal has Spartans wishing and hoping and dreaming and praying.
15.) Pomona (11): We’re fans of Daryl Aggers.
16.) Covina (12): Some would say this is kind of high for team that loses nearly everything to graduation.
17.) South El Monte (11): Some would say this is way too low for a team returning front line talent. Give us a Machuca and anything is possible.
18.) Montebello (10): We know they’ll play defense…but will they score points.
19.) La Canada (9): Love the new coach, love the future, we just can’t get into the now with LC.
20.) Baldwin Park (8): Keep an eye on Michael Moran at quarterback.
21.) Brentwood School (7): Brentwood? Say What?
22.) Wilson (6): Third head coach in three years, fifth in six years. That can slow growth some…What do you think?
23.) Temple City (5): “But when she looked there, there cupboard was bare.”
24.) Nogales (5): Way too low…MVS sometimes, sometimes, doesn’t know what its talking about.
25.) Mt. View (5): Ambruso…Sounds like a nice table wine. Ambruso at the end of 2012 could be identified with Coach of the Year.
(Others) Blair, Gabrielino, Keppel, Pasadena Marshall, Viewpoint, Kilpatrick, Winward, Calvary Chapel
The official Mid Valley Sports Top 25s will come out August 1st.

easy pickens,
we look foward to playing you. please bring it this time. 3-2 since 2009. u should never lose to us , but we find a way. please don’t hold anything back. D1 guys vs smart kids.
Monrovia beats Sierra Canyon 42-20 in the finals. Monrovia is so loaded, so many D1 players…transfers. San Dimas lol…is going to lose very bad this year.
EM returns Back of the year Brandon Martinez and All CIF Ruben Jimenez enough said.
SEM has a lot returning on both sides of the ball! Offense: QB, TB, top WR and 4 out of 5 OL. Defense: Entire secondary and DL and 2 LB’s. In one year they went from 1-9 to a 7-4 playoff team. I can’t wait to see what they do in year 2. Don’t Doubt the South!!!
Hey Sam, If you are #4 in the polls, it is not shocking anybody. You should be in the finals. SD Beat Monrovia 2 times out of the last 3 times they met. They just could not win the ones that count. They should have beat San Gabriel in semi’s to get that big game against the Wildcats. This is a new year. Sierra Canyon # 56, Monrovia 159, Paraclete 187, San Dimas 301; in the state last year. Sierra Canyon destroyed Paraclete in the finals. In the same tone if anybody in Midvalley, below 301 and in our top 25 beats Sierra Canyon that would shock the world. Not just San Dimas.
Monrovia…so much talent…that talent needs to work hard though.
Olympic- Right the Olympic is now in the Northwest Division. That’s why they’re not listed in this poll.
The Moors easily a top three team w/QB Josh Mendoza and the favorite to win it all, but his departure from Alhambra leaves the Moors with a very talented team and a question mark at QB. By the way where is the super talented Joshua Mendoza?
Sam Dimas will shock the world.
The Olympic league was moved out of the mid valley, if i understood CIF correctly
Fan- It’s Aaron Sepulveda – played at El Monte and also coached the freshman at EM and View. ..
Who are you Keppel fans and why??? Are you guys movin’ on up like Gahr??
Wow…with the Olympic League out of the Mid Valley, it seems like there is a big drop off between the top 4 and everybody else
Who is the new keppel coach ?
Monrovia should be in the Southeast!
What do u guys think of the new Keppel coach
