Summer Mid Valley Old School Top 15

In late July is it too early for Top 10 or 20 lists? Probably, but most area schools are on dead period so we figured we would toss up an Old School Top 15 before everybody comes back. We’ve included Baldwin Park, Sierra Vista and Bosco Tech in our old school teams.

Mid Spotlight: Myles Carr

Arcadia quarterback Myles Carr is entering his second full season as the starter. Carr really came into own last year throwing for over 18oo yards while leading the Apaches into the playoffs. Carr is expected to be even better this year and is already getting looks to play at the next level.   

Tuesday Toss at Arroyo

(El Monte) – These days they’re throwing every Tuesday and Thursday at Arroyo. Tuesday was just another one of those days. The Knights welcomed Rowland, Northview and Arcadia to toss it around.

Burroughs Win is Extra Special

(Burbank) – Quarterback Lucas Yanez scored on a one yard run in overtime to give Burroughs a 21-14 win over Arcadia Friday night in Pacific League action. Yanez hit Zander Anding on an 18-yard pass play on the first play in OT to set up the touchdown. 

Monrovia Ready for the Rubber Match

(Monrovia) – Monrovia got a new field in 2010. The Wildcats also hope to get a new CIF championship after coming one game short a year ago. A good start towards that goal would be a win over San Dimas – the team that beat them in the CIF Championship game last year.

Apaches No Match for Wildcats and Bueno

(Monrovia) The Monrovia Wildcats (1-1) scored 21 unanswered points in the second half to pull away to a 34-7 win over the visiting Arcadia Apaches (0-2) Friday night to open play in front of a packed house in the new Monrovia stadium.
