Former Schurr and current (Las Vegas) Rancho HS HC Elvin Dick & Tim Peterson bury the hatchet.

Good Afternoon!

Have to be honest, I enjoyed the NBA this last week more than anytime in the last 20-plus years…It was great…The Mavs were a pleasure to watch…

So do we really have to focus on baseball now?

For a guy who always had a reputation for opening his mouth far too much…Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was all class on Sunday night…Honoring former Mavs owner Donald Carter and directing attention to his players…Gee, wouldn’t Cuban be great handling business out at Chavez Ravine?

…and Lebron James was all Pinot Noir…

“We had a good spring and ended with about 84 thats good for our school,” said Northview HC Marcel Perez. “Our quarterback, Victor Garcia, is looking pretty good. We have some guys who are really solid in (TE/LB) Roy Torres, (LB/TE) Christian Alba, (RB) Javon Taylor, (WR/FS) Will Mitchell, (WR) Daniel Valenica, (C/DT) Christian Rivas, and (G/DE) Pedro Munoz.

What a stupid question…Of course the Miami Heat’s season is a failure.

First word out of Las Vegas this weekend was about the groaning of opponents when Arroyo’s Steven Rivera, running to his left, launched a strike 25 to 30 yards downfield.

Yes, I agree NewRam, it does seem like Rivera arrived at Arroyo sometime during Bill Clinton’s first term in office.

Last Add Northview: The Vikings finished 3-7 in Perez’s first year as HC after going 1-9 under Jim Arellanes in 2009. N-View was 3-3 in the Valle Vista, but lost a crucial battle against Covina 14-11 in Week Four which would have changed the outcome of its season.

Who are these Bonita people? Because even with the graduation of some heavy hitters, they have no plans of going away… Is it possible for the Bearcats to make some noise in 2011…

Really? Tim Peterson and Elvin Dick are friends now?

Last Add Arroyo: Have we mentioned that His Arroyo Baldness has only had three starting quarterbacks in nine seasons? Rivera for four, Brian Partida for two, and Dominic Salmon for three… True, Austin McFarland did begin the 2008 season as the Knights QB, but he refused to wear number “10”… Stayed with his “7” and broke his forearm in the first quarter of “The Mid Valley Classic” at North Field…

On this Date in 1980: I went to a drive-in (The Edwards on Peck & Live Oak) to see “The Shining”… Hard to explain, but in those days it wasn’t viewed as odd for a bunch of dudes to load into a car and go to a drive-in…

First Add Rosemead: The Panthers, the other perennial challenger for the MVL crown, by contrast have had six starting quarterbacks since 2003; Dan Diaz, Jose Camarena, Andrew Walker, Angel Alejandre, Matt Macias…and a new another in 2011.

Next week we’ll let Rosemead and Arroyo fight about 1,000 yard rushers…

I wish this joke was mine (very funny): “I asked LeBron for a dollar, he gave me 75 cents because he doesn’t have a fourth quarter.”

The Dude abides…

Yeah Peterson was actually a good luck charm for Schurr that year. He kept picking against them and they kept winning.

Pichotta, last year’s starting center along with his linebacker duties, will captain the O-line this fall. This will be a huge plus for Bonita. Look for Bearcats Algorri (Sr), Kroah (Sr), Broussard (Sr), Ung (Jr) & Hoff (Jr) to have good years. D.J. Theard (Jr), listed last year at 6’3″ 230 will also factor in what looks like a fine year for BHS in the pit.

I’m not so sure…I’m not predicting the same season as last year, if anything right now I’m thinking 6-4 or 7-3…with the Smudgepot staying in La Verne.

Since your speaking of Bonita I will share my analysis. Their strengths are coaching, which is huge. Next is their secondary that can tackle and is fast led by D1 prospect Horine. Next is the linebacking corp led by Piccota and other talented young men that saw plenty of reps last year. The running backs have a chance to be much better lhan last years group and the receiving corp is at least as good. Question marks are the bubbas. Will they work hard enough this summer to follow in the footsteps of Lemons, Mckenzie and the like. Will the QB whoever Podley selects show leadership even if a sophmore? They will be stronger the next year only because the team has many underclassmen but it is a mistake to take this years model lightly.

I predict Bonita will struggle this year, but be good two years afterward. Smudge will probably go back to SD
