I’m hearing a lot of good things out of Covina. They have a quarterback and although Joe Benavidez is not the returning starter he’s looked great in the summer. All of the key skill players other than QB Darren Torres are back for the Colts.

KISS Fall in Home Finale 72-65

(Anaheim) – San Antonio raced out to a 28-0 lead in the first quarter and never trailed holding on to beat the LA KISS 72-65 Saturday night at the Honda Center. It was the final home game of the year for the KISS.

Last Throw at Arroyo Before Dead

(El Monte) – Whittier Christian, Northview, and San Gabriel joined Arroyo for one last throw Thursday before the dead period begins for the next few weeks.

Trudell Ready to Go at Cal

Last year California finished 4-6 overall and 2-3 in the Del Rio. That’s not a typical season for Cal who is traditionally in the playoffs and in the hunt for the Del Rio League title year in and year out.

Deshawn Potts graduated, and Miles Bryant transferred to St. Francis. Ryan Maddox retired as did a majority of the coaching staff. With Kurt Scoby also graduating in June Monrovia suddenly had several issues to address.
