Deshawn Potts graduated, and Miles Bryant transferred to St. Francis. Ryan Maddox retired as did a majority of the coaching staff. With Kurt Scoby also graduating in June Monrovia suddenly had several issues to address.

Torosian Dominates Creston Tourney

By Steve Ramsey (Creston, CA)-  The dream lives on. Mid Valley Sports staffer Joe Torosian continued is football comeback this week by participating in the Creston 7-on-7 Passing Tournament. He’s hoping to latch on at some point this season at any level.

The vibe I’m getting about the Carmelo Anthony to Lakers deal is not good. I’m hearing that he doesn’t play defense, shoots too much and isn’t the ideal teammate. That’s probably all true, but I say bring him on.

I actually tried to jump on the bandwagon. I tried real hard. With all of the excitement being generated lately about the World Cup I tuned into the game Sunday between the United States and Portugal. Portugal even had a guy I had heard of in Christiano Ronaldo.
