The Peterson Principle 8/13/12

Tracking Down the Saints San Dimas Coach Bill Zerncikow gave us the grand tour of the new stadium last Wednesday night. It’s state of the art from the new turf to the new grandstands on the East side of the field. The most impressive thing was the blue track that runs around the field. It […]

We Are…DR!

(Pomona) – It may have been close to 100 degrees as the players strapped on the helmet and pads for thier annual intra-squad scrimmage Saturday morning. But for Diamond Ranch it was all good because it meant football season is here and well…isn’t that the most wonderful time of the year up on the hill at DR? Besides they all got fed courtesy of […]

Raider Nation Gets Ready for 2012

(Rowland Heights) – Last year was one Rowland would like to forget. The Raiders finished 2-8 and out of the playoffs. That page has turned and although they are still young they are looking for a fresh start.

Apaches Are up and Running

(Arcadia) – Arcadia returned from the dead period and put on the pads for the first time on Wednesday. The Apaches have always been long on skill players and this year should be no exception. Transfer Joey Harmon and Zach Yee are both getting extended time at quarterback.

McClain Enrolls at Maranatha

(Pasadena) – Logan McClain, who spent last season at Blair, has enrolled at Maranatha and will begin practice Monday Maranatha HC Pete Karavedas confirmed Friday night.

I’m not sure what that was. It certainly wasn’t an opening ceremonies for an Olympic games was it? If you didn’t know better you would think you were watching the beginning of  a Broadway musical or some type of promotion for a Disney movie.

Most of the schools are on dead period which explains why I saw Arcadia Assistant Coach Eric Elias on the golf course Saturday afternoon. “What? Are the Mid Valley guys out here playing for money?” Elias laughed.

Surprise, Surprise! Monrovia won the Arroyo Lineman Competition Saturday – as if they didn’t have enough everywhere else.
