It would seem it wouldn’t take the death of an owner to get a team motivated but whatever it takes I guess. There have been three straight victories since the death of Dr. Jerry Buss and Dwight Howard is still in the fold so it looks like the Lakers are on the right track.

So for six months the NBA news revolves around Dwight Howard and it turns out he’s not going anywhere. Yes he’s arguably the best center in the league but he’s also the most indecisive. The latest news on Howard has him opening his own waffle house when he retires.

Notes and observations from Christmas Weekend 2011: It feels strange to have a Sunday in December with just one NFL Game. With Christmas falling on a Sunday all of the games were moved to Saturday the 24th leaving Green Bay and Chicago with the spotlight all to themselves on Sunday night.

Yes I did watch the entire Laker game on Sunday. I’m also into caning, flogging, electric shock and Chinese water torture. It was ugly – one of the ugliest losses in Laker playoff history, along with game six at Boston in the 2008 Finals.
