Haven’t we seen this before? The Raiders win a big early season game over a possible contender and all the silver and black honks come crawling out of the woodwork proclaiming that they are ready to make a Super Bowl run.

First Down Means First Win for Rams

(Glendale) – Nick Starling picked up a first down on a  fourth and two run with two minutes left to seal a 15 -14 Temple City win over Hoover Thursday night at Moyse Field. Starling rushed for another first down 90 seconds later and the Rams ran out the clock to get their first win of the year.

Mea Culpa Covina  I love it when I’m right but when I’m wrong, I need to acknowledge that also. And in the case of Covina it looks like I was wrong. After seeing how many players the Colts lost to graduation/transfer I thought they were in trouble.

West Covina Wins Shootout

(El Monte) – West Covina beat Northview 30-18 to win the SGV Shootout at Arroyo Saturday. The Bulldogs, not traditionally a passing team, knocked off Monrovia in the semi finals before dispatching of Northview. Monrovia beat Whittier Christian in the consolation game.

Arellanes Takes over at Marshall

(Pasadena) – Jim Arellanes, former Head Coach at Los Altos and Northview, has been named the new HC at Marshall (Pasadena) Arellanes confirmed Tuesday.
